any more. john mccain and lindsey graham because every damn sunday, you turn on the sunday shows. who has their ugly mugs on t.v.? john mccain and lindsey graham on every one of the freakin shows. sometimes more than one. but if they are not on fox, they are on abc. if they are not on ab. c, they are on the "meet the press." if they are not on "meet the press" they are on quite state of the union." they are always dumping on everything obama is doing over and over and over. there are 100 senators. right? alt every sunday do we have to here that idiot lindsey graham from south carolina who has become the biggest scourge of the republican party, the u.s. senate and john mccain who ish something maybe to say 20 years ago but he doesn't have today. it's the same ol' gabble. there they were again yesterday, trotting them out, lindsey graham was on face the nation, and john mccain on fox news sunday. so lindsey graham still doesn't know enough about benghazi and he is not going to let chuck hagel go forward unless we find out some more. >> i don't think
news led by i guess the king kong. what is it in white elephant? john mccain who has nothing possibly better to do besides become a total media whore and just continue to be like i am going to find reasons to get on television and get mad. you know he started up on hagel. we are going to get to that. before but i really think chuck hagel has a couple of outstanding moments. he had some rough ones too. >> he did. >> he had some rough ones. >> it was not a flawness hearing hearing. >> i am not going to say it's all roses. there was some dob pooh in there, too. let's take at listen to his opening start. >> i am on the record. i am on the record on many issues. but no one individual, no one individual quote, no individual statement defines me. >> i love that. i think he really did a good job of sort of crystalizing what it is his job is. you know, when you are secretary of defense, yes, you are part of the decision-making team for the national security in this country. but at the end of the day, you don't operate in a vacuum. you know, you operat
to a major falling out with his one time friend, senator john mccain. >> for then senator hagel to see he'll let history be the judge he was there and involved. he knows he's wrong on the basis of what happens. >> you saw the hearing know his record, are you going to support him for defense secretary? >> i will see the rest of the answers to his questions, but certainly i have very grave concerns. >> it's not just john mccain, senator lindsey graham probably won't vote for him. she tried to link him to the attacks on oh the u.s. personnel in benghazi, now threatening to hold up the confirmation unless the administration answers more questions on that attack. >> no confirmation without information. this is complete system failure and i'm going to get to the bottom of it. >> now that might have been the craziest turn in the story but former vice president dick cheney criticized the president's choice of foreign policy leaders. he told a group of wyoming republicans: >> cheney should know from sect rate people, because dick cheney is now criticizing someone else's foreign policy team. i give
conservative senator, john mccain's pick for the cabinet. as soon as you get a little bit of obama on you they can't work with you. and it is their problem, a lot of us have to deal with it but it is fundamentally a failure of the republican party and it is why they're going to continue to lose elections in and perhaps past the obama era. >> paul ryan wanted a piece of this anti-immigration obama stuff, so let's listen to him. >> leaking it out does set things in the wrong direction. the things we have to ask ourselves, particularly with the white house is president obama looking for a bipartisan law? and without addressing future flow, by giving advantage who cut in front of line for immigrants who came here legally, not dealing with border security adequately, that tells us he is looking for a bipartisan advantage, and not a solution. >> steve, it tells us it is not actually a complete legislative proposal. >> it is a starting point, and again, one of the republican's favorite lines in attacking it. they switch back and forth. a favorite line against obama, is that he has not been speci
republicans stephanie. stephanie: well played, sir. go ahead. john mccain. >> i think that that is a sufficient period of time to get answers to outstanding questions and i think that senator hagel after that period of time deserves a vote and a up or down vote on his nomination. stephanie: he was calling the white house's answers on benghazi satisfactory now. he said he's ready to find a way to end the filibuster holding up the nomination, but now is trying to get answers to questions posed by senator ted across. you pointed out that douche regarding hagels sources of income which he's going to throw might be north korea. >> have you ever been an agent of iron, north korea or mars. stephanie: this is how ridiculous they've gotten, they want to investigate an employee in hagel's office that reportedly sexually harassed another employee that hagel had nothing to do with. >> like ben gas yea which he had nothing to do with. 14 years ago this week, bill clinton was acquitted by the u.s. senate on his impeachment trial. only one of they say congressman ever made it to the
of war. >> any trial would be encroachment in the american of senator john mccain and simply prefers taking drones away from the cia. >> since when is the intelligence agency supposed to be a force of drones going around killing people. >> i believe it's for the department of defense. >> senator mccain calls the current situation is a conundrum and the drones will kill americans overseas and give them miranda rights when captured here in the united states. >> harris: peter doocy, thank you very much. fox urgent. a 1 million dollar reward to catch a killer, death and destruction so far. the mayor and police chief saying this is the highest bounty in that city's history and calling christopher dorner a domestic terrorist. and this detail, the news conference that just wrapped up this evening was held underground for the department's own safety. as you may know from our coverage on fox, dorner put out an onhine manifesto naming 50 targets. those officers and their families under tight protection tonight. dorner vowing revenge for getting kicked off the force years ago. he's suspected of
. on tuesday, senator john mccain stood up to his colleague, ted cruz, and defended hagel. >> senator hagel is an honorable man. he has served his country and no one on this committee at any time should impugn his character or his integrity. >> but yesterday, mccain told politico he hasn't made up his mind on a filibuster and was waiting to see whether the white house will respond to a letter requesting more information about not hagel, but about obama's actions and orders the night of the benghazi attack. quote, we are hoping to get an answer to a simple question. and what did the president do during benghazi is now becoming a rallying cry. >> know the debate on chuck hagel is not over. it has not been serious. we don't have the information we need. and i am going to fight the idea of jamming somebody through. i'm going to hit you and keep hitting you, absolutely! you're not going to get away with not answering basic questions. >> the vote is going to be close. and senate democrats are bracing themselves for republicans denying them 60 votes. two republican senators are supporting hagel's
to cut a deal. >> now we know the president did reach out to two leading senate republicans john mccain, lindsey graham, invited them to come over to the white house todays on -- today to talk about immigration reform but he wants to talk about sequester these forced budget cuts. what's going on. has that meeting yet taken place? >> reporter: that meeting was scheduled to take place about half hour ago. we were told by the white house that the meeting could cover a range of topics so that could include immigration. these budget cuts. and perhaps other topics that have come up on capitol hill recently. who knows maybe foreign affairs and other issues. so presumably it's going on right now and i'll give you a read out as soon as we have it. >> brief us on what happens. i'm curious to see how much of an effort there was made by the president and these two republican senators to work out a deal, perhaps at least start a negotiation during these final three days to avert these forced spending cuts. >> we were told when the president called john mccain, senator mccain last week that's when th
the whole thing. >> please do. stephanie: last week, john mccain was all elder states man-y. that was his policy last week. respecting the penalty's prerogative in making nominations role and advicing consent, blocking nomination is just not done. it's just not done. >> hmm ok. stephanie: now after saying just days ago they should not filibuster mccain said he hasn't made his mind up. he appears to be aligning himself with his closest little buddy, lindsey graham. they are so gilligan and the captain, those two. who had been demanding more information on benghazi, which he has nothing to do with. >> they're more like thurston h. oh well and lovie. stephanie: benghazi is cat nip to the tea baggers and he's trying to keep him from getting primary challenged in 2014. that's what that's about. >> huh? >> how did your little plan go to get susan rice? how did that go? [ laughter ] stephanie: that blowed up real good. >> let me just say benghazi, benghazi benghazi. >> this is the first time in the history of our country that a presidential nominee for secretary of defense has been dill busted.
, we've been kvetching and bitching and complaining for the last week or so about john mccain, you know, loser from 2008 who is still the face of the republican party. you never see mitt romney. talk about a loser. but mccain and they keep putting him out there on the sunday shows every sunday, every show. every day every show. overexposure for a guy who's got nothing more -- nothing to say anymore. and talk about people who have nothing to say anymore, here's the big one. cpac conservative political action committee which has its huge gathering of conservatives it is a big event here in washington, d.c., every year in march. this year, yesterday they announced the headliner the keynote speaker for this year's cpac event, sarah palin. >> no! >> bill: talk about the number one loser. here she is, four years ago -- i'm sorry, last year at cpac -- >> at the 1975cpac, he laid out a blueprint for rebuilding the g.o.p. under a banner of full color. and ever since then, cpac has been the rally for conservative action and that's why i'm glad to be here today with all of you conservative activis
to once admire john mccain and bob kerry as a democrat for the same reasons. they are independent, and weren't bound to their party. they put the good of the nation above the party, willing to buck their party when they thought their party was wrong, like bob kerry did, like john mccain used to do, like chuck hagel did. couldn't it backfire them on this sense? he is going to be defense secretary. they are going to want stuff for him. they are going to want stuff for their district. they are going to want contracts for the district. they are going to want tours of the pentagon. chuck hagel is going to have a list of people who stabbed him in the back. right? >> right. they stabbed him in the front, i think. >> you are right. >> no screatus here yeah. thighs guys will -- i think that he probably sitting at how many today and over the president's day recess will be relishing the opportunity in the future should he have it to get these guys crawling back to him begging for help if there are base closures, contracts being handed out, and they will need to work
-- it's time for your doomsday sequester. or as john mccain likes to tweet it, #obamaquester. >> both sides are digging in for the next washington crisis. >> it is still the economy. >> doomsday machine. >> 85 billion in cuts. >> what's getting cut? the pentagon. >> we're only a few weeks away from this. >> it doesn't make any political sense. >> it would be brutal for everybody. >> devastating effects on the economy. >> pushes us into a second recession, something so terrible -- >> all right. settle down. >> they recognize that the sequester is a bad idea. >> i don't like the sequester. >> we see the republicans playing games. >> this is the wrong time for sequestration. >> both sides are sort of okay with it. >> doing nothing is easier than doing something. >> republicans say cuts but no taxes. >> these cuts cost job. >> they don't even want to talk about it. >> who are the monsters who came up with the sequestration idea? >> guess what, they all support it. congress put it into place to force themselves to agree. >> dumbest blame game in washington. >>> it's time for another round
taking money from north korea without any facts to substantiate it. and so both senator john mccain and lindsey graham, republicans who are, you know, you would think -- who were also raising questions about hagel, turned on him at some point and basically said that he had gone beyond the pale. so i think you're right in wondering if there are some parts of this country where what's allowable is a different standard. i have to say i think you got it so right when you described what characterizes this kind of speech, though. when i was there, what so struck me was the specificity, the weird specificity of 12 professors on the harvard law who are communist and want to see the overthrow of the u.s. government. it seemed so on the face of it improbable -- to me, knowing harvard law school, which is basically turning out the men and women who are the pillars of the united states legal establishment, including many members of the united states supreme court. and so -- but it was that specificity that makes it sound like there must be something in it here. and -- but he never did name who
